Default Will the LS7 hold?

I'd love to get a LS7 clutch kit for my car because they drive so nice and are cheap as hell, but I'm kind of doubting it'll hold. The car's a cam only (FMS F14HL cam) with a 150-200 shot. Anyone that makes similar power run this clutch? I know z28/2002 ran it in his 600+ car but I haven't really seen many other cam/spray guys running it. I'm still on a stock rear, so it won't be getting launched on.

It still looked new when I took it out of the car. A lot of guys are running them in daily drivers though

Nice, I saw in a few different threads that you had really good luck with it. I'm just kind of wary about running a clutch that's designed for a 470ish rwhp 3100lb car in my 550-600rwhp 3300lb car with that sudden impact of the n2o hit. But like I said, the car won't be seeing anything close to a hard launch (I like to keep it at 2.0-1.9 60's), mostly roll racing, and the car gets driven under 2k miles a year. If it lasts for only 5k miles, no big deal. I just gotta get an idea if it'll hold it for a little bit.

I had around 15 passes on mine and a lot of highway races not to mention close to 3500 miles on it.

I'm using the LS7 clutch with my TSP 231/237 cammed and 243 headed car. I'm going to be spraying through an HSW plate. Probably between 100 and 150 shot. It all depends on how much the clutch will hold. I'm expecting it to handle 500 rwhp as long as it isn't launched hard on slicks. I guess we'll see. I should know in a month or so.

Alright thanks...good luck with it. I'm thinking it'll hold.

I'm certainly hoping so. I replaced a Spec 3 with 50K miles on it with the LS7. That clutch handled cam only with 125 wet shot, probably just over 500rwhp, without any issues. Years ago, I toasted a LS6 clutch pretty fast on a small cam and a 125 dry shot, 450rwhp and 480 rwtq. I love the feel of the LS7 much better than the Spec. I just want it to hold now.

Thing is like stock on my HC 400 RWHP, but I will be trying it out on my new engine. Hopefully it will hold.

I know what you're saying. My stock clutch is starting to go after I pounded it with a 100-150 shot last year with only bolt ons. I was originally going to go with a Ram Powergrip HD and my stock resurfaced flywheel, but the LS7 looks like such a good deal, plus it comes with a brand new flywheel so I won't have any downtime. And I'd prefer to stay away from the Specs, or at least the sprung ones, and I'm not so sure I want to deal with the driveability issues that go along with an unsprung clutch like the Spec 4.

Mine has about 10k on it right now...slips on 150hp worth of nitrous and drag radials and bolt-ons.
