Shifter Not Centering
I had a problem with stock shifter squeaking and not centering itself.
I figure this was purely shifter so I bought and installed GMM Ripshifter today (Pretty much Pro 5.0) and I have same problem. It doesn't center back when pulled towards drivers side, but snaps back to center when pulled to the passenger side.
Is this something internal in the tranny or a coincidence between stock and GMM shifters? I read that some people have this problem with GMM but it's other way around, meaning when pulled towards passenger side it doesn't center.
Btw, this is 2004 GTO with 50K and I think tranny fluid hasn't been changed yet.
Any input appreciated.

The shifter should center itself with it's own springs. If the springs are busted, it will not center itself. Uninstall and inspect the shifter.
Also of note, are you sure the that the shifter is made for your car, t-56 shifters vary from car model to car model.
