Going for 10's N/A and 9's on spray, Stay T56 or go TH400/Transbrake?
Well im in a bit of a dilemma with myself, cant make my mind up...
Ive got a nice 2000 Silver WS6 /w 32k miles that is very nice car with full everything, nothing stripped.
I decided to change the heads/cam/stock shortblock that made 400 rwhp and I had enough extra parts around to put together a new combo from parts from my other cars.
New setup (Forged 6.0L) is good for 480-500 rwhp on the motor and ill be spraying 200 (650 rwhp).....Planning on running high 10's on the motor and getting it in the 9's on the unit. Built 8.8" rearend on 28x10.5 Slicks/littles
Whats everyones experience with cars this quick with a T56 at this speed? Im worried im going to be leaving 3-4 tenths on the table.
Do I leave the T-56 M12 stock tranny (4.10's in the rearend) or swap to a 4200 stall / TH400 /w Transbrake setup?

I think it's mostly an opinion matter. At that level I think it's tough to find a good compromise solution. Is the car going to be 99% track? TH400 with no overdrive and a non lockup converter would not be my choice of tranny for the street. Going low 10s and 9s on a T56 will be rough with finding a clutch that #1 will hold up, and #2 will holdup and still be drivable beyond the track.
The way I see it is this. If it's going to be a track only car, I'd go the TH400. You won't worry about clutches, and with a big converter you may very well make up those tenths you were talking about. If it's a street/strip, it would probably still be more comfortable in and around town with the th400, unless you can find some super amazing clutch.
I know a guy personally that was die hard 6 speed, running low 10s on spray and 10.80s on motor, he went through a ton of different clutches trying to hit 9s, and eventually went the TH400 route. He did get his 9s after this point, and now his car doesn't spend most of it's time down due to driveline issues.

i think the GV unit is one of the most underrated things out there. it can take ~1200hp and can make a car more fun to drive on teh street. id love if they made a setup for the t56. i wouldnt mind being able to street drive 4.56's or more with stock gas mileage

Well I came across a killer deal that kinda change my whole route now.
I got a Rossler 4L60e with a transbrake, deep alum pan and all the good stuff in it for $1000 bucks. Now I'll just pick up a nice edge converter to go with it and should be good to go
