I wouldn't risk it with the one real piece of hardware that sits between my feet and a clutch/flywheels that's spinning 6,000 times per minute (or 100 times per second).

If that was done removing it as well it may be slightly distorted. Would be a good idea to replace it.

It was cracked before we removed it. So must've been due to some other form of stress or heat or something else...I will look into having it welded...

Thanks!

Theres no guarantee that if you have it welded it will line back up. If its been distorted due to stress and you get it welded, you could have a hell of a time getting it back in.. I would check price on replacement to be safe.

Replacement is over $300.00 new. If you have the cash replace it with a reliable used or new part. Try checking around in the classifieds, it's not uncommon to seem them used.

If you get it welded, be sure to let anyone who does the work know that it can't be overheated and warped. Check for flatness on bell to block and bell to gear box surfaces before and after the work. If it is'nt flat before the work, you're probably best off replacing the bell. It doesn't take much to mess up the input to crank alignment and cause all kinds of clutch and bearing problems.

That sucks man, I would just buy a used one or a new one from Mcleod. If you weld the bell housing it may warp. Also its aluminum and if im not mistaken its tricky to weld aluminum.

Mine was cracked like that on my personal car.I reused it through 3 more clutches,80+track passes and a bunch of street miles.Worked fine and never expanded.I was cheap back in the day

I think the safe play is too find a suitable replacement. Either a good used piece or upgrade to an aftermarket unit. Any good fab shop should be able to TIG that one up just fine, but the warping/alignment issues other people have mentioned aren't worth the aggravation. Ideally, you would almost be better weld it on the car so it is stressed and the motor and tranny act as a "jig" of sorts to keep distortion to a minimum. Even with all that, I'd swap it out.

I sold my stock unit in excellent shape for $100 about a month ago, that's about the going price and they are out there.
