Default trans top hat replacement

Mine is just wornout and still intact. Anybody replace one?

Are you talking about the little plastic/delrin 'cup' that is in the shift rail and the ball of the shifter rides in??
If so, then yes, I change mine whenever I have the Pro 5.0 off.
It IS somewhat of a bitch to get that thing out (I used a good pair of needle nosed pliers), but it will come out.
Any of the internet GM parts dealers should have these in stock for < 1/2 of what most 'brick and mortar' dealers would charge.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, my 'tophat' was stuck in there pretty good as well the first time I tried to get it out.
I think I used a small slotted screwdriver to very carefully scrape out the remnants of whatever I could not get out with the needle nose pliers.

I know of a place that sells bronze shifter bushings, if you never want to replace it again.

Some people have claimed more noise with these (but who knows???). But yes, if you care more about performance and longevity over that, the bronze 'tophats' are the way to go!
