Default What plug is this on t-56

It is a white plug that is to the right and above the drain plug. It has a wire close to it but it has tape or the end of it. Was needing to know if it has to be plugged back up. The trans runs and shifts fine without it.

If it's on the passenger's side of the tranny, I'm pretty sure that's the plug for reverse indicator lights. Put the car in reverse with the key "on" (but not "running"! ) and get out and check if you've got reverse lights!

Skip-shift, reverse lock-out, and I think even the speed sensor all plug in on the driver's side.

The tranny will function without anything plugged in, but you'll set codes for things like no speed sensor, or skip-shift disabled.

If its on the pass side like Cap'n Pete said, then its the reverse light switch.

I don't get any warning lights. i reckon I can just leave it unplugged since I don't want it anyway. This can't cut the horsepower or anything like can it?

CAGS (Computer Aided Gear Selection) is what blocks 2nd gear and forces you to 4th under light acceleration. Having it disconnected won't affect anything, other than allow you to shift when/where/how you want . I'm not sure if it'll throw any codes though . But no, no HP loss because it's disconnected .

Nope. All it does, is forces you to shift from 1st to 4th under certain throttle/acceleration percentages. Its supposedly for fuel economy. I dont know of too many people that want CAGS to work though. It kind of works along the same lines as the reverse lock out.

So if you arent getting a light, and the system isnt hooked up, Ide say just leave it alone. Mine is unplugged and the wiring is long gone.

EDIT...haha. I had it typed, and forgot to hit submit. Cap'n Pete got it in before me.
