Default shifting problem?

I have a 98 SS and lately shifting into 2 especially 3rd and sometimes 4th seems hard. It does not do it all the time but I dont drive the car alot. The car has headers and I have had the master cylnder replaced. I have read about possibly the headers cooking the line but does anyone else have any ideas before I have to take it to a shop.

Headers cooking what line? It may just be your syncros. Does it do it in certain RPMs

I read that it could possibly heat up the line coming out of the master cylnder. I havent been noticing it at any particular rpms. Are the synchros a difficult job?
