my car wont go into 1st, 3rd, and reverse

For some reason today my car wont go into those gears, i dont know anything about manual trannies but it just wont go in i can feel the gears grinding and that is it. So what do you guys think is my prob?

there fluid in the reservior? if you push hard enough does it go into gear?

Sounds like a mis-adjusted fwd stop on your shifter. Thats why they should not be used.

I agree with calhoon, sounds like a mis-adjusted shifter simply because all of those are the same direction in the shift pattern...maybe try loosening the shifter and moving it back a hair or like he said the fwd stop.
