Default Clutch or hydraulics or tranny?

Background. 2000z28 m6 with Gm synchromesh, last changed about 15k miles ago. Car has 53k on it with stock clutch/hydraulics. Lately sometimes the car has been grinding for no reason at all. sometimes its when im parked and going into reverse, sometimes when im just gradually shifting and the shifting feels sloppy as hell sometimes like mushy and other times its a bit more crisp. I have been driving the car the same way for years and lately every shift is different, sometimes the clutch will release closer to the floor, other times in the middle so its herky jerky some shifts. I guess the car is 8 years old as of this month since it was built in in June 2000. Im gonna put an ls7 setup when it finally goes.

Thanks Mike.

PS ive done some searches, but couldn't really nail down the problem.

Definitely doesn't sound like the internals are the problem, look at the hydraulics or the clutch itself..

(Reverse may be the exception, since it gets the most abuse and usually the first to wear out)

give the system a good bleed and see if that helps.
