Default Power shifting T-56

Just wondering will the T-56 let you shift leaving your foot on the gas and just pressing in the clutch to shift and just hold it on the rev limiter for at the track? That way you NEVER take your foot off the gas. Tried it once on my stock clutch and didn't work AT ALL just grinded and didn't go in gear. This a bad idea at all?

If your clutch has proper disengagement, yes you can. It being worth the added stress on parts is for you to decide.

I powershifted mine three time and broke trans on shift during burnout. No more powershifting this trans. I've bashed on muncies for 30 years with out the problems of this trans. Just be forewarned with our clutches it might not be a good idea.

my foot never comes off the floor. Your stock clutch may not like doing this .When I had my stock clutch, which was the upgraded Z06 clutch that came stock in 2002 f-body's. I always power shifted from the beginning. First the rear axel broke on the stock 10 bolt with less than 800 miles on it , then once the 12 bolt was installed the stock clutch held for about 30-50 passes (11.8 to 11.5 passes)before it started to slip. So be ready to fork out som money fro a rear and a clutch down the road. If you wanna play, your gonna pay. My old spec 3I is still holding up pretty good

I don't remember being able to do it on the stock clutch.

But now with my CARTEK clutch its the only way I shift. Whats the point of letting off the throttle? All you do is loose time.

I have close to 350passed on the car, about 300 of those power-shifting. Still on the stock '01 T-56 with 67,000 miles on it.

I think that transmission is well up to continuous powershifts with no mercey. Its the stock clutch that does not engage/disengage fast enough to allow for a true power-shift
