Default t 56 question

how strong are these tranny's? i am currently building a 79 malibu and would like to put one in. my motor in my old camaro that was backhalfed went 10.80's on motor and the one time i sprayed it went 9.96 spinning off the line. will one of these tranny's hold up or no? it will probably see the track 6 times a year. thanks

Definately.

Its a great tranny, and if its built right, it can take ALOT of torque.

Joe Huneycutt (SixSpeedsInc) runs 8.90's with one in his camaro.

They are great, I would go for a Tremec T56 from a 98-02 Camaro or firebird or 97-0? vette as I have heard they are stronger than the Borg Warner T56 from the 93-97 era cars, but if you are going to build it you will have no problem at all.
