Cheap LT1 clutch
Im putting a LT1/T56 combo in my 94 S-10 and i need a clutch. I have a stock flywheel. I dont want to spend 1000 on a clutch right now, im going to be building a 396 CI Lt1 in the near. So i will spend the money then.
I was thinking about the SPEC stage 1 but i have heard some bad stuff.
What do you think i should run?
Thanks Dan

lt4 replacement clutch
people don't give them as much credit as they are due.
most aftermarket clutches suck for the lt1..... if you are keeping it under 400 rwhp on this motor... lt4 clutch..... buddy of mine had it on his cc306 + bolt on car and it never slipped, even with all the high rpm clutch dumps.
when ur ready to play with the big boys..... the street twin clutch isthe way to go

I have heard good things about the LT4 clutch.
And the street twin is going behind the 396.

search for a 96 Z28 LT1 clutch at auto part store. The clutch kit will have a LT4 PP
Autozone carries it packaged under 'duralast" for about $200.
Open the box and the PP & disc should say "valeo" on them. Sometimes they carry a cheap China knock off using raybestos disc and a 4 spring disc vs a 5 spring one.
I had one for years on my head/cam LT1. 383 drove right through it though.

I had a RAM #88516 clutch/pp on my '97. It was a mild bolt-on car. Good grip, stock pedal feel. Cheap at $299.00 from Summit. And it was supposedly higher capacity than stock, though the pp was a valeo unit like so many other LT1 clutch kits. It only started to slip on hard launches after I put about 70K miles on it. They market that model as a stock replacement now, though when I bought it a while back, the rep told me it was a mild upgrade over stock.....25% better grip supposedly.
