Default 95 LT1 and T56 in 68 camaro hydraulic questions.

I have decided to put the LT1 engine and T56 in my 68 camaro instead of adapting the T56 to my 383. My question is what are my options on the hydralics setup. I see some places offer Modified hydraulics for doing this but nobody will tell me what needed to be modified. I will be buying the bracket to attach the master to my firewall and buying a new hydraulic throwout bearing, but I need to know what will work and what wont. Can I modify a stock one myself? If so how. I am used to doing all of my own work, but I am currently deployed and am trying to make this as easy as possible for my brother to do. I appreciate any and all info on the matter. I know I could find alot by doing searches and I have tried when I have time but my internet time is very limited here in afghanistan so as I said, its very appreciated. Thanks.

Wish I could help, I'm will be doing the same in a 67. Hope someone out there answers for both of us. Good luck over there. I had 2 of my former students deployed. One in Iraq, one 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afgan. (Both in the Marines) Thanks for your devotion. It is appreciated.

The Stock LT1 setup doesn't use a hyd TOB, they use a hyd slave that pushes a regular pivot fork. If you have the tunnel/header clearance, and can make the master/reservoir work with your pedals, you may not need to change anything from the stock LT1 setup.

So in that regard, there's no diff between dropping in the LT1 -vs- running the T56 on the 383, since they look the same to the T56.

When I got on O'reillys website and searched under 95 trans am, then clutch release bearing it showed me a hydraulic t/o bearing that costs $135. Is the website just jacked up or do they use hydraulic t/o bearings? If it uses a regular fork its going to be easy I believe.

The website must be off by a few model years.. The LS1 started using the hyd TOB in '98, but all LT1s used the fork with hyd master/slave.
