Default Weird trans noise shifting... ls1 t56

I just started noticeing a weird noise when shifting into gears and downshifting. Its only as I am putting it into gear no noise otherwise. Clutch is new as of Jan. It sounds like like a growling noise not grinding and it only happens after it is warmed up. I changed the fluid over the weekend and its still there. I dont know which gears its doing it in but its more then one.. It growls then a small thump then its gone until I shift again.. really weird its not slipping, grinding, ect. any ideas would be great .....

How many miles on the trans? What did the fluid look like that drained out?

Since the clutch is new to the picture, and it happens in more than one gear, it's pointing to some early clutch wear or may need the slave shimmed. Depending on the mileage and abuse, it could be a bearing starting to go, if the clutch checks out good.

(I'm only 20min from Oxford, if you do decide to open up the trans, give me a holler)

See if it does it when you depress the pedal alone. Or is it when you move the shifter/select a gear that it makes the noise?

I think I have the same issue. Not grinding but almost like a bearing going bad. I had a bushing installed instead with the clutch. after that the noise appeared. I just haven't gotten around to getting someone to pull it out and see what the bushing looks like. I was wondering if the slave bearing could to this. I had too much fluid in the slave for a while after the clutch install.

I started getting this same noise, its most apparent in the 1-2 shift. mine does it right past neutral when its about 2 slide in the next gear. My car started this after I got the clutch fluid really hot. I was actually having trouble getting the car into gear though afterwards. I changed the fluid out and the car is easier to get into gear again, but im still getting a faint growling noise if i listen closely.

I have mine apart right now....exact same issue.

My issues appear to a be bad splines on the mainshaft where the 5-6th gear is pressed on. I tore everything else down and the bearings and sychros are fine.
