Default Barely any pedal??

Im driving an 01 sts ws6. And had stock clutch with 30k. Pedal last week started to get really easy to push in and didnt seem to want to come back off the floor quickly. Bought a new clutch and installed today. Pedal is still real easy to push in and doesnt seem to want to travel back out fast or with any pressure. Any body got any ideas?

I just find it weird it started out of the blue before the clutch install and still is present after the new one. Clutch seems to engage fine just no pedal resistance when pushing down or coming up.

How did you bleed it?

If it was the old pump method I would do what was mentioned....I personally don't have a lot of faith in the pedal pump method.

just your standard bleed no mity. Just feels like pedal is to easy to press in and doesnt come out as fast and as much resistance as normal. Vehicle shifts pretty good thru all gears just cant seem to get feel back.

Think its the master cylinder? Got to be something in the hydraulics was there before the clutch install and is there after. Mine started though after I was running against a saleen and mid race clutch seems to give and make a few rattling noises. Now no pedal before and after clutch install. Thought Id give a little more info see if anyone know a good way to narrow this down.

Mine was doing that.It would go to the floor and not want to come back up. I put a new master cylinder in it and now it works great!!

probably master... maybe slave.

Also when you are bleeding, are you doing it nice and gental? If so, that could be your problem too. You really gotta pump it good to get all the air out.

Sounds like virtually the same thing that I'm experiencing. I pulled the master today and after some work on the bench I'm about 99% sure the master is bad or blew some seals somewhere on the inside. I'm able to compress it by hand and it blows fluid back to the resivoir, which it should not be doing. That explains why it feels like I'm losing pressure on the clutch....cause I am. imagine that.

It was a bugger to get that thing out never having done it before and working solo. Now the fun part, putting the new one back in. Hopefully it'll be here in a day or two.

Ok, I got one of these. How do you get the air out with this? You cant just hook it up to the bleeder like you can on a brake bleeder screw. I heard of somehow sucking the air out through the master cyl reservoir, but if so how? I just installed an LS7 clutch & new slave. Pedal was really good before, now after over 1 hour of bleeding, still no pedal. Even though I got a good flow of fluid from the bleeder, I gotta believe theres lots of air in the slave. I just removed my master to do the drill mod before this, had it bled very quick after that. Ok, just found & read the mityvac thread. I will try that.

I did the mity vac trick, put vacuum on the reservoir with the cone fitting. Damn, that is a slick way to get the air out. Only took about 5-10 minutes & nice stiff pedal. Only bad thing I noticed is pedal has to be to the floor or real close before the clutch engages. Dont know if thats just an LS7 clutch thing or it still has air in it. Nice stiff pedal doesnt feel like air is in it though.
