Default Have you? Trans install

I just put in a spec3 and rebuilt my t56 and when i was puting the trans back in i was having a hard time geting the input shaft to slide in the pilot bearing. So to get some room i put the little sisor jack out of the trunk in between the exaust and the floor and cranked until the back of the engine moved down 1/4 inch about 1 to 1 half turns and the trans slid right in.

Has anyone tryed this before?

Some times it goes in nice and smooth and other times it's a bitch. I'm having a hard time visualizing what you did though. Did you wedge the jack above the engine and the car floor?
