Default I burnt my clutch up. What causes this? Pics inside

The clutch disk looks shiny and the flywheel and pressure plate look smudged. The rear main is dry but i did pack the inside of the pilot bearing pretty darn good with grease and i think it might have spun out onto everything. Any thoughts before i put the new one in?

A few questions for you. Did you get any hydraulic fluid on the disk or on any part of the clutch when bleeding? Also were your clutch hydraulics properly bled so as to not be "dragging" the clutch? And finally when you go to start do you ride the clutch alot or rather just ride the clutch in general?

Default clutch

if you can get fluid on it by bleeding it then maybe and when pulling out of the garage it is pretty tight so i had to a lil it would shutter and smell a lil like burning. I also packed the pilot bearing good and there was some on the flywheel a lil

Don't overpack the pilot bearing. That is just a freeze plug on the back of the crank (They are gun drilled) and if loosened will leak oil all over. I had the freeze plug fail and leak on my clutch once. Caught it early enough though and managed to save the clutch (and engine). I didn't pack much grease in my pilot bearing. And have almost 20k on the clutch set-up now.

If your slave was acting up it could slip the clutch and cause it to heat up like that. When my car was new I had that happen and killed the original clutch. Did you put in a new slave when that clutch went in? I did for peace of mind when I put my set-up in.

That looks like slippage. Either you were riding the clutch or each shift it was dragging or it was just slipping in general.

Did you have it shimmed correctly? Hydraulics bled? Break-in period?

as stated before, don't pack grease behind the pilot bearing.

If fluid of any sort got onto the flywheel/pressure plate ie grease, then the pressure plate would have discolorations of where it ABSORBS the grease or fluid. It doesn't burn off either, it stays on their and wrecks the material.

Any type of oil or grease would do this. If you say there was a little on the flywheel, that is enough. I've seen it with brakes alot too. Too much grease on the pilot, bad idea.

I didn't pack any grease into the pilot bearing. It came to me with a looking pre-packed.
