Default Master Cylinder question

I've been going step by step through my stuck pedal woes, and I'm in need of some advice on the master.

I flushed and bled the lines, no improvement at all, so the next thing I'm looking at is the master. I recall reading somewhere, not sure where, that if you pop the quick disconnect from the slave that the pedal would be very firm. This is the case for me. I am not able to depress the clutch at all with the line to the slave disconnected. This shocked me as I was nearly convinced it was the master and I was expecting the pedal to be soft.

Does this mean that my master is likely not faulty at all and the slave is the culprit?

Thanks

I have seen that test not to be so accurate sometimes.
When the master is moving down the bore & displacing fluid it can act differently is the only thing I can surmise.

Interesting. Are there any tests to see if the master is faulty or is it pretty much just replace it and see if that helped?

Pretty much rule of thumb, if the slave isn't leaking & you cannot build pressure replace the master.
