Talking MGW jsut arrived

I was following a fellow members post about his MGW. I was in teh market for one and liked the sound fo this MGW. Not to mention alot of guys with other types of cars swear by them as well. Anyway I jumped right into installing it which did not take long. This thing is awesome I love it. Once I got it in me and the wife put the top down and went for a ride. This thing shifts clean and crisp. My ol B&M felt more notchy, this one though feels much tighter IMO. Damn near 2-3 is done by the shifter was flawless. Have not hammered down on this car since I got it but damn this thing felt good. Any negatives you may ask? None really. The only thing that may be an issue isn't really. But I got the Chrome 6 speed ****. Its a nice lookign peice and the chrome is just freakin awesome. But, I do not care for the grip so much its like a rubberized ****. If they come out with a leather one its will get changed but even that really does not keep me from likeing this shifter. Here are a couple pics I took of the before and after. I have used a few shifters on previous cars like the factory hurst, B&M, touched a few Pro 5.0's and of course the factory shifters in my previous vettes and f bodies too. My previous cars can be seen on the link in my sig. Its not been updated since I sold my SS but you get the idea. Anyway I highly recommend this shifter if you are planning on getting a new one.

And BTW this post by MeentSS02 is what got me to look into these. Thanks Meent . Here is his link that shows the kit exactly how I got it. The shifter is not listed on thier web site yet you have to call them and they will get you the info you need from there.

I'm glad my post is serving its intended purpose...I was pretty skeptical, but in the end it was money well spent. I love how I can just lug along in 6th gear and the shifter is dead silent. I like that shifter more and more every time I drive it.

So you can't use the **** off the stock Hurst? Or am I reading that incorrectly?

The threads are different sizes. I had a ball not Hurst on this car but the ball will not fit. They are making a shift bar that will accept the current stuff out there I believe. You would have to call them to verify.

Not as it currently stands...the current **** thread size they offer is 12mm, not the stock 16mm.

Looks good, it defiantly a nice looking shifter. What is you take on it compared to the pro 5.0?

If it shifts anything like a MGW on a mustang then Iam game to change my pro 5.0. I dont know why but the mustangs with short throws in them are way nicer than any f-body that Ive felt. My older brother has a cobra with a pro 5.0 in it and its way crisper and shorter than my SS with a pro 5.0. Just my .02.

If you dont mind how much was it shipped??

It looks like all of the MGW shifters are the same (aside from maybe the throw reductions).. and they just use those clamp-on extensions to position the **** in a way that's comfortable for the driver. Not a bad idea at all, to be honest
