LS7 definitely won't hold the juice. You will need a minimum of a tex. single or go for a long term clutch like the tex twin or SPEC twin.

I've been doing research for a while and it seems general consensus is this, spec is a 50/50 chance of getting one that works just fine or getting a total junker... the problem with spec it seems is that their customer service is the absolute s**ts!

The two better ones would be Tex or Mcleod... Mcleod apparently is a little bit more on/off type of clutch, but the smaller texs' 0z700 are a little smoother for daily driving... which is why I'm probably going to get the x-grip...

thats just from what I've researched I can't vouche for any of it because I've yet to try an aftermarket clutch. The thing with clutches is its not as simple as for the right amount of $ you can get an all around awesome clutch. Theres way too many variables and you can easily make the wrong decission...

also I was thinking LS7 clutch which would be awesome for daily driving but if ever expect to have anything more then 450at the wheels I would deffinately not recommend it... keep in mind our f-bodies are heavier then the y-bodies and if you have a clutch thats just sufficient for a 510bhp car and slap it into one of ours with more hp and heavier you're looking for a problem..

just my .02$

i just sold my OZ700...but for your setup, that's whay i would recommend. only reason i sold mine was because i will be building more power than it's rated for.

the OZ700 Z-grip i had was by far the best clutch i've ever used. no chatter, EVER, stockish pedal pressure, and smooth but quick engagement. it NEVER slipped, ever. i was making 452rwhp and 395rwtq dumping the clutch above 5500 and it never flinched, just clamped hard and held.

you can buy cheaper clutches, but you get what you pay for

LS7 is not a good track use clutch. Tex is the better choice for your set up. LS7 clutch doesn't like partial engagements or high RPM dumps. It will glaze easily with either. Doug Rippie Motorsports in Buffalo, MN, recommends RPS clutches for modded C6 ZO6s and even stock C6 ZO6s that see track use. I've looked into RPS and I liked everything I saw except the price. Tex would be the direction I'd go.
