Exclamation Ls7 Clutch guys

I installed the ls7 clutch kit last Sunday. Everything feels good. My question is with the ls2/ls7 flywheel being heavier than my stock ls1 flywheel is my rev time slower.

I.e when i hit it, it seems like it takes longer to get higher in the RPMS now.

Is it my imagination? or is it actually slower since it is heavier and harder to rotate ?

Thanks guys.

i really dont think you'll feel the difference .... your clutch may have been slipping so it felt like it was revving faster than it was ...

I went from a Spec 3 to the LS7... my car actually seems to rev faster, and no its not slipping.

I installed a Fidanza with my LS7 clutch to avoid that situation

It is heavier but it's not a issue at all. Everyone buying lighter flywheels are wasting extra money if you ask me. I picked up a couple tenths in the quarter after my clutch swap to a LS7, so if the weight mattered I wouldn't have picked up E.T. & no my stock clutch wasn't worn out I just wanted to upgrade.

So it's just my imagination? My stock clutch was not slipping either. My slave was bad so while i was in there i wanted to upgrade.

It will rev a tiny bit slower but not enough to matter. Plus the extra weight makes higher RPM shifting smoother. The extra weight helps keep the assembly spinning which translates to less RPM loss between high RPM shitfs. I use to really have a problem getting my car into 3rd at high RPM's till I did this clutch swap. Could have been the slave being old also. But it's definetly better up top as far as smooth shifting.

I went from a SPEC 3 with aluminum flywheel to the LS7 and I noticed quite a difference in rev time while in neutral. However while driving, I dont notice any ill effects. The car seems to move out just as good as before.

Plus, taking off from a stop is 10000 times easier. And it does in fact drive nicer due to the rpms not diving as quick between shifts. Mods in my sig and it holds perfect.

Funny cause I never had a single problem shooting a 150 shot on my H/C/I TA with the LS7 clutch
