Default 2nd gear being a pain

99 trans am with 60K on her. It has a textralia clutch with a new master and slave put in about a year ago. my problem if im driving around normal cruising... 1st to 2nd gear is no problem, smooth. but if i am at WOT and try to 1, 2 shift its like i have to jam it in second... i can hear it grind a bit. my foot is all the way in the clutch. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Sounds like the syncro to me, when did you last flush the transmission oil?

umm.. that sounds like a classic case for the drill mod... id also say to check ur fluid and make sure it isnt burnt. but the drill mod may be the answer.

I'm willing to bet that your tex clutch is dragging at higher RPMs especially during a WOT shift. With the car on level ground and the transmission in 1st gear with the clutch dissengaged (pedal down) rev the engine to about 4000 rpms. Then quickly rev it to 5500-6000 rpms and see if the car tries to creep forward.

If this happens, you need to move more fluid in order to release the clutch more. We have a new master cylinder out that will provide better shifting and a great fell with your Tex clutch.
