Default slave cyliner question

i need some help, i am in the process of replacing my slave cylinder. I got all 8 bolts out going from the trans to the bell housing out, and managed to move the trans back a little less than an inch. I got a 10mm wrench in there and unbolted the two bolts holding the slave cylinder in place, but im not sure what to do next, i cant move the trans any farther back because the reservoir by the shifter is hitting. How do I get the slave cylinder out? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hopefully you have your shifter off. You need to lower the trans enough for it to clear on top and back it out enough to get the slave out.

yeah, i have the shifter off and i got the trans to drop and backed it out to the point where the input shaft is almost clear of the bell housing, but not quite. the slave cyl still doesn't want to come off and i cant back the trans anymore its hitting the exhaust. do the spring and bearing come off separate before the slave? has anyone got the slave cyl out without completely dropping the trans? or does it need to come down?

The slave and throwout bearing should come out together. Have you tried the writeup on installuniversity.com? If not then go there and click on "LSX" then "Install Documents" then scroll down to category "Trasmission" and click on the "Mcleod clutch" install. There's a good writeup in there with some pics. Good luck!

those are probably part of the throwout bearing, I havn't ever had a throwout bearing out on one of these cars, but that would be my first guess.
