Default I-90/94 Construction Rant

Okay anyone who commutes south of 103rd and Stony Island has experienced this.

There's construction going from 119th to 159th on The Bishop Ford, and this ticks me off EVERY time I drive that highway:

There's a sign immediately where the Dan Ryan merges into the Bishop Ford(103rd st) that reads "Left Lane Closed 2 Miles Ahead"

Traffic flows around 50mph all the way till 115th , yet when you hit 119th you're hit with a brick wall of traffic. What I don't understand is Why?!?

If people would merge into the right two lanes in the 2 FREAKING MILES before the lane is closed, the traffic would flow MUCH better.

Even at night when there's more than a ton of free space in between cars, people actually make an effort to get into the left lane even though it's going to end!

I don't get it. I just don't get it!
