Default Outlaw All-Stars Series at Gateway Saturday 8/21!

2010 GATEWAY OUTLAW ALL STARS SERIES CONTINUES ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 21st!

The fourth event in the 2010 Outlaw All Stars Series takes place on Saturday, August 21st, bringing more outrageous wheelstanding action to Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Spectator admission is still only ten dollars with children under thirteen years old admitted free!

Competitors can expect to compete in front of the largest crowd in OAS history since the race will be held in conjunction with the annual KSHE 95 Rock ‘n Roll Car Show at GIR! Also, the cancellation by weather of the most recent OAS event means racers in Outlaw Eliminator and Super Street Eliminator will compete for a double purse!

So far, the 2010 season has seen Jeff Hansen and his ProCharger-equipped ‘69 Camaro take over the point lead in Outlaw Eliminator after scoring his first title at the OAS race of the year. Keith Hug’s recent Kawasaki victory in Outlaw Motorcycle also earned the point lead in a four-way brawl with Mike Wagner, Eric Sanzottera and Ed Biggs. Tim Gehrs leads the Super Street (True 10.5) Eliminator points with his outrageous ProCharged ‘81 Olds Cutlass ahead of Mark “Woody” Woodruff and Laurence Bass. The biggest rivalry in the series, however, is still raging in In Drag Radial Eliminator, where point leader Steven Biggs and his turbocharged 2004 Mustang from Tennessee has met Tom Derby and his Missouri-based nitrous oxide-injected ‘69 Camaro in both finals this season with each driver taking a win! Current OAS championship point standings can be viewed HERE.

Fans can expect more incredible action when racers from all over the Midwest converge on GIR for another night of nonstop heads-up competition in the fourth battle toward the 2010 OAS championships. Tim McAmis Performance Parts and the American Drag Racing League have posted noncontingent cash awards for the entire 2010 Outlaw All Stars Series and Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels will award new rear tires to every OAS point champion at the end of the 2010 season!

Gateway International Raceway expanded the Outlaw All Stars Series to eight events this season. The OAS, designed to offer affordable non-handicapped drag racing on a local level, includes five Index-based Eliminators and three Heads-Up categories for cars along with one Index division and one Heads-Up class for motorcycles.

Gates open at 1:00 PM with qualifying and timed trials beginning at 3:00 PM. Eliminations start at 7:30 PM Saturday night!

The OAS offers very low entry fees for equally modest purses but will accommodate virtually any vehicle. Spectator admission is also extremely cheap at $10 for adults with all children under 13 years admitted free. The program and its rules were created with a goal of offering nearly all competitors a class in which to compete without the expense of adding new equipment. All purses will be based on the number of entries in each competition division and will be presented to the winner and runner-up in each class. Purse money will be accrued from all competitors above the basic $20 GIR entry fee for all contestants. Payout to the finalists will be 70% of the total accrued awarded to the winner and 30% of the total accrued awarded to the runner-up in each eliminator category.

All vehicles entered for competition must pass a basic NHRA technical inspection and must comply with all rules for the eliminator category entered as well as the NHRA-mandated regulations for advanced performance including additional safety equipment, chassis construction and driver licensing requirements. Detailed rules can be found in the 2010 Gateway International Raceway Rules and Regulations available at St. Louis Drag Racing.com by clicking HERE.
