I have taken many engines (LS/SBC/LT1/ Etc.) to Schmidt Automotive. They are located off of 30th and franklin here in Indy. About 1/4 mile past Franklin on the Left hand side of 30th street to be exact. Talk to John Strudby. Tell him James sent you. He's doing a 383 LS1 Stroker for me right now. It's for a friend of mine. He's been doing engines for a long time. he's a 62 yo man that knows his stuff. I would def trust him with any engine work I needed done.

The guys over at South Indy Customs are pretty good, they work on domestic and foreign..Seen some ferraris and lotus's in there a few times. They dont do machining (can hook you up with a shop though) but they can do pretty much everything else. They're on S. Meridian st. pretty close to downtown. And I'll have to remember Schmidt Automotive when Im ready to get my motor work done, since they have a machine shop and all in house,it sounds pretty convenient.
