I've heard a lot about this, not sure if all or part of it is true but this is the rumor. NHRA decided not to sponsor rage this year about a month ago. A local racer decided to run the event himself with the help of some other racers and sponsors. They contacted LORP and rented the track for all of scheduled rage events for an agreed upon price. A week before the first rage event LORP raised the rental price. The price was raised to a point where the event stood no chance of even breaking even on money so the promotor cancelled it. I'm guessing this is true based on previous dealings by track management...they've been know to do things like that. They have already ran off Super Chevy and Good Guys.

I'm disappointed the event has been cancelled. It was the one event that was bringing a lot of new fans to the track.
