Default Anyone near Detroit who...

would like to mentor me through a clutch replacement? Just got a '96 WS6 as a fair weather car for my kids and I to enjoy and tinker with. It would seem a recent incident has left me needing a new clutch. My goal with getting this car has been to do everything myself as it needs it...wasn't expecting to have to dig in so deep this soon! I can do about anything with instruction, but would love to have someone more experienced walk through this with me.

Just thought I'd check!

How far away is 48350 from you? I might have more tools in my garage.

I did mine a couple of years ago with a few really detailed Youtube videos I found. I'd love to help, but I am just too short on time as of late. Just throwing out the youtube option as it really walked me through it well. I did it myself with basic hand tools on jackstands.

Looks like you're about an hour away.

I actually dropped the tranny myself and am now assessing the damage (lots of vids and reading in forums, atrus_ss). Looks like a new clutch disc and pressure plate, as well as a rear main seal.

There's oil on the oil pan gasket in the dead center of the front of the engine, but I also found the oil pan bolts were all loose. Not sure if tightening will help or if I should attempt an oil pan gasket change while I I have it apart? Gasket is the one piece fel-pro and is only about 500 miles old. Not sure how the last guy installed it.

Sxracerb25, thanks for the offer! Where are you located?
