Default Milan on 4-13-05

I'm planning on heading there after work tomorrow. I'm gonna try and get there around 4:30 if I can, try and get some runs in before a lot of people show up. I've got a Dodgeball game at 8:30 so I need to get there earlier. It'd be fun if some other people went and I could meet some new people. I've got a black SS if you see me.
(This is dependent on me calling tomorrow and seeing if they still rent helmets. If they do I'm going.) Hope to see some other people there.

I'll be there too. I'll be in the blue Z28 with factory 16 inch chrome wheels. They do rent helmets just get yours early, they run out.

I'm gonna try and get there at 4, I just gotta make sure I get up for work.

You wanna race for fun? We'd be comparable time wise and I tend to drive better if I have someone to race against down the track.

Have fun, let me know how you run.

Try dropping the tire pressure to 20lbs tonight and see if that helps you get a better launch.

Good Luck on your quest for the 12's. Let me know how you do.

Take Care,

Bill

I didn't think to see if you had a helmet. For tonight I'll just pay the $5 to rent one, I don't mind. I plan on dropping the pressure, and I'm gonna try some runs spinning the tires before hand vs. not. Normally I just drive around the burnout box, I might try spinning them a bit to warm them up a little. I doubt I've got any chance of seeing 12's, only differences since my previous 13.3@107 are sub-frames, strut tower brace, smooth bellows, and Shaner TB. I'm going for a 13.2. Just as long as I keep improving, that's all I care.

If you drive around the water box then back up to the front edge and do a burnout of at least 15 seconds. I do a 15 sec at the min. That should help out a ton. Don't for get to let off the brake and roll out of it at the end. Then back up again (about 6' in fornt of the water box) and spin the tires at least one full turn to get the excess junk off the tires. Pull to the line and off you go.

My times with doing a burnout -VS- not doing one could easily be .02-.03 better. It is all in the launch. A .01 second better 60' time equates to a .02 better time at the end of the 1/4. It is not always double but it equates to more than what you have gained in the 60' time.

Let me know how things go tonight and good luck.

Bill

My skips are in my car, but it was like 13.5 @107 with a damn 2.3 60. I couldn't launch at all, but even with a .2 sec higher time in the 60 I was only .2 sec off my previous best ET wise, so my car is a little quicker.

Sorry you didn't hit your goal of 12's. Did you try the tire pressure at 20lbs?
How long of a burnout do you do?

I hope to get out to milan the week after next. Was it real busy last night?

Considering your 60' times your car should be able to run in the 12's on a 1.9 60' time.

I plan on going the week after next. Let me know if you want to head down.

Later,

Bill

If you get there when they open at 4 you can get a lot of runs in before people start showing up. I got around 12 runs in by 6 and then I left. The only issue with Wed. is that I was told they don't prep the track at all, so I'm thinking if I go back I might try on sat. I wonder if it will be busier on sat. though.
Yeah if i could pull a sub 2.0 60' then I would be in the 12's definetely, but there is no way that was gonna happen last night. Had the tires dropped to 20 lbs and it wouldn't hook worth crap. It would either bog or spin, nothing in between. But I had fun for my first time to the track this year, that's all I really wanted.
