Nothing special in the Spring, but on Saturday, July 8th the Mid-Iowa Camaro Club will be hosting the 3rd edition of HAWKEYE CAMARO-FEST This " All Camaro Car Show" is proffessionly judged and attracks Camaros from severals states. Last year our long distance award winner was from Texas!! Information about the show should start showing up on our club web-site in the not too distance future.

That's too bad as you will miss out seeing a lot of very nice Camaros including 4th Gen GMMG built cars and Yenko 1st Gen cars. In the previous two years we have had 4th gen ZL1's, Hot Rod Magazine Camaros, Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Camaros and Berger SS's. We have also had Yenko Camaros. In fact, last year we had four Yenko Camaros.

Here are last year's best of show winners:

Best of Show Original - Rallye Green 1969 Yenko Camaro

Best of Show Modified - 1999/2000 Chevrolet Legends Tour Z/28

Other neat Camaros that attended last years show:

Original 1969 Fathom Green Yenko Camaro

Two Original 1969 LeMans Blue 1969 Yenko Camaros

2002 Hugger Orange Phase I ZL1 Supercar Camaro

My 2002 Onyx Black Phase II ZL1 Supercar Camaro

An Original 1969 Camaro Convertible Pace Car

Here are some of the GMMG Camaros that attended the previous years show (2004):

An Onyx Black Phase III 2002 ZL1 Supercar

A Phase I 2001 Dale Earnhardt Intimidator SS Camaro

A Phase II Hot Rod Magazine Camaro

A Phase I 2000 Berger SS Camaro (recently converted to a Phase IIx)

And I am sure in addition to some of these Camaros attending again this year (2006) Charlie (the original poster of this thread) will bring his recently acquired Sebring Silver Phase IIx 2002 Hot Rod Magazine Camaro too.

And Patrick will bring his beautiful 1969 Daytona Yellow SS 350 coupe that is being featured in the March 2006 issue of Chevy Rumble magazine.

(photograph above is freelance writer Bob McClurg photographing the car for the March issue of Chevy Rumble magazine)

Try to make plans to attend. The more the merrier ! ! ! !

I'll be there for this year's show. Now just need to decide which Camaro to bring.

IMO, this is a great show to attend b/c you get your Camaro judged by unbiased 3rd party judges who are hired to do the judging. An excellent way to see how your Camaro stands up.

My husband and I may be in Nebraska and Iowa this summer to visit family. Not sure exactly when. Any problem with a Trans Am stopping by just to look? I would try to talk my brother in law in Nebraska into driving over in his 55 Chev too.
