Track near Chicago SO where do you guys go to the track near Chicago and what is involved. Im new and I just bought my car in early Feb. Feb 7 to be exact. Id like to see what my car can do.

US41 Raceway, Morocco, IN Rt. 66 Raceway, Joliet IL are the ones i go to. 66 is like 40 dollars on test and tune night. 41 sunday mornings 20 dollars test and tune.

Route 66 is really close ot me though Ive never been there. When are these nights usually? Im sure they wont start them until the summer and that theyll announce them via their website.

So u pay $14 choose a day and how does it exactly work? Do you wait in line. What kind of safety equipment do you need? Do I need special tires?

you pay when you show up, they will ask if your racing or spectating, pay your fee, then you have to go to into tech inspection (ihra is more relaxed with saftey than nhra), they go through your car to make sure that it meets the requirements for the time you run, after tech you get into the staging lanes, then you wait your turn to get up to the lights
no special tires for T&T, its pretty much run what'cha brung, you can run a minivan if you want
saftey equipment varyes with your ET, if your still in the 13s all you need is a helmet

Byron is the actual town where the track is at, SW of Rockford. It is kinda close to the Rockford airport (still a good 10-15min drive) but that is as SW as the Rockford border goes. I would recommend taking highway 2 to get there, its a pretty sweet drive, especially in the fall
