Default Trans removal- P I T A

What a pain.
Stripped a torque converter bolt!
Couldnt get the trans to angle down much with the long tubes to get at the upper bolts too well!
Everything was greasy and seized up. Lines, bolts, etc.!

Now I get to put it back in. Is it just me or are those torque converter bolts made of POS material?

Anyway, just venting.

I got 2 of mine out pretty easily but the last one was a PITA. I ended up haveing to sand that one in 1/2 with a dremel and use a hammer and chisel to spin it. BTW thanks to the helpful fulks @ ls1 tech for that tip

A trans jack from harbor freight is a really nice unit. Cheap and well worth the time savings I got it out in like 45 mins start to finish. The only thing is you have to jack the car up like 4 feet to get the trans and the jack out.

I actually have a flat plate for a floor jack. It keeps it on the jack steady and sits under the pan. The LTs and those shitty bolts are what screwed me.

I had the hardest time myself pulling the trans with the Edlebrock LTs on. They are junk!

Let's trade cars...My mustang with everything needed to go fast(Full nitrous kit and all the little fitting and odds and ends, fresh set of slicks), your car the way it sits.

I really want another LS1 car...So if anyone knows anyone selling one, lemme know.
