How many guys have taken spills?
How long have you riden bikes and what kind do you have now.
Just curious to see how many guys have and have not fallen.

My dad's got two 03 harleys(Sportster 1200 and a Softail Deuce) that we always cruise around on. Also have a 1000RR, crf250R, and I used to have an old fizzer 600.
Never had a problem on the harleys yet. I've crashed the 250 countless times...I used to do motocross and enduro, so I've crashed dirtbikes all my life.
Almost got a tank slapper on the 1krr setting the front wheel back down at about 85 mph...Pure luck that I got it back under control or I woulda been fucked.
I tried jumping the train track in alsip on my old 125...That hurt.
Edit: And I've been riding dirtbikes since I was five. Started out on an 83 Honda z50. Started riding crotch rockets and harleys when I was about 12...Or since I could just about touch the ground.

Started sneaking out the old man's 920 Yamaha Virago when I was 14. Basically have been riding cruisers on and off since then. Have ridden friend's rockets. Never been down. Had a few close calls (people pulling out, hit a cat, nearly hit a deer), but never had a spill.

I crashed pretty bad on my dirtbike when I was twleve but I picked up an 81' yamaha to cruise around on and some bitch didn't stop in time hit me from the rear. I have also been hit by some douche bag who felt he didn't have time to stop for a red light. I don't know how the hell I got away with light scratches out of each incident but Mother ******* in Indiana cannot drive to save their lives. After the last one I got rid of the bike but lately I've been wanting to get another one.

Totalled 2 bikes. One was when a woman pulled out in front of me on archer while I was on my way to work. She was pulling out of a parking lot and shot out in front me, I didnt even have time to slow down. I flipped over the car after hiting her right in the rear door, and she left me laying in the middle of the street. When I came to I saw traffic driving around me and I didnt see her. She pulled across the intersection and called her husband, DIDN'T EVEN CALL 911!!! She never even got out of the car the whole time.
The second time I was leaving work and was at Ogden and California. I was the second person in line behind a white work van, when the light turned green we both went. He made it through, I got hit by a guy who ran the opposing red light (gives you an idea of how bad he ran the light). Shitty car, no insurance, but at least he got out to se how I was. Broke my arm, had to get a surgery and 5 pins, and still dont have all my movement back.
My advice, I advise against commuting on one. People ignore bikes, and most people dont like them. Couldnt tell you how many close ones there were. People who would look right at you at pull out anyway. They just arent as scared of getting hit by a bike. As bad as they will cut you off in a car, they will do it twice as bad on a bike. For recreation they are great though.

Oh yeah. I rode for a long time. Probably had 8 years riding time before my first accident, then the other one happened a year later. For the first 8 years I never dropped the bike or had any kind of accident. Almost layed it down once avoiding a dear on LaGrange Rd.

Had a honda superhawk and layed it down one morning on the way to work, was going about 55 and a deer jumped in the road, back end got loose and i layed it down. Almost went down a second time when my front tire got a hole in it when i was going about 95, was able to stop but it sure scared the hell out of me.

I would never ride a bike when the street is busy, nor would I cruise down a busy street at a busy time. I would keep the cruising 4 slow streets and where there is alot of action. I agree with MZooMora, riding a bike when people are gonna be in a rush and stop it nothing to get there on time, no thanks. Like I said, I would stick to slow streets.

Have rode a few times now and again. But have not started riding consistently until about 3 weeks ago. I drive a huge 01 Vulcan 1500. Had a few people cut me off already, and had to lock up the brakes.
But my old man lost his leg when he was 22yrs old in a motorcycle accident. A car cut him off and suddenly stopped. He had to lay the bike down, and as he was about to slide under the car, he planted his foot to pop the bike up, and his leg caught the bumper of the car, and that is how he lost his leg.

Hey Jon, my brother is actually trying to sell his Ninja. It would be a perfect starter bike for you. It is a 89, 750cc. It has a full Muzzy header & exhaust, cam kit, jet kit, new clutch, and a few other things I can't remember. The only thing wrong with it is it is missing the front ferring (sp). He is only asking $1800 for it. Let me know if you are interested.
