Default Urgent Wheel/Tire Question!!!

Hey guys i have an urgent question.. Well first of all a buddy of mine that works at a chevy dealership called me today and told me they had this badass Z28 in today, that they got for a trade in. So he called me to check it out, so i went up there and this thing had IForged Aeros on it..I was SHOCKED..they are WIDE..the tires are 335x30x18's on the rear, and 275x30x18's on the front. Soo i told my buddy i wanted these rims and he said he would see if the manager would be interested in trading, so i left and the guy actually called me..
So he will trade me straight up..My black Z06s with my nittos for his Iforged Aeros with tires..The only flaw is that the tires on the rear of the iforged are gashed up cause the previous owner didnt roll the fender lip. But i will get tires for it..Im gonna try to go back and get some pics of it tonight hopefully if everything works out..But im curious,
If its an 18x12 rim, how hard is that going to be to fit on my camaro..its lowered, im not sure what exactly the lowering kit is, since it was lowered before me. I had to do a pretty good amount of pounding to get my 305x35x18s to fit..Its a KILLER deal, but im afraid doing it cause i dont know if they will fit or not..Anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

Man I would have to say they are sticking out a ton and thats how they were fit on there. He said the tires were gashed from the fender was hitting it.,

I got some pics of the rims guys. I found out there is a 1/2in spacer on the rears also. Sooo im thinking if i take those off and bang the wheel wells in like crazy i should have no problem fitting them..I already removed my bumpstops too.

Back AGAIN guys..I also forgot to say i measured the tire width of the Iforged and it measured 13"across roughly..Then i measured my Nittos and they measured roughly 12" across..So it doesnt seem as big as a difference as i thought it was going to be. The tires that are on it are Michelens so i dont know if maybe those run small or not. Im just debating how they would look on my car..The red car looks kinda "mexican" with the short wide tires, im thinking with my car lowered it should look badass..but im not sure..what do you guys think?

Default iforged

My iforged rears are 18x10.5 . I am lowered on DMS springs, some MINOR rubbing issues on fender well with nitto 305-35-18's 555II's You do not have to remove your bump stops The wheels will look a 100 times better on a lowered car. Go for it..........

yes they will look great on a lowered car but i think the z in the picture is not lowered in the rear because of tire width?the front looks lowered tho.the rears need new tires so just put some nitto 555 305-35-18s on the rear if you can find them & you should be close to a good fit, because thats what you are running now, right?but that thick of spacer on the rear scares me,make sure you swap out the lugs for longer ones!!!what kind of trade did you work out with the dealer? if you dont do a trade, i might want to trade my y2k chromes.good luck jacob

What's that rear tire size? My 12" rim alone with no tire measures almost 13". With a 345/30/18 (Bfgoodrich) the width will measure around 13.8-14.1"

What kind of tire is it?

It does seem wide cause it sticks past the fender.

and
1. With the spacer you should go back to stock ride height even with rolled fenders.
2. Get rid of the spacer and get a custom length rearend and offset LCAs and lots of BFH or minitub
3. If they are 3piece (they look like they are) call vince about a offset that will work better for you. You could stay lowered and get rid of the spacer.

What dealership are they at?

HAHA thanks afor all the compliments guys..They are an 18x12, with a 335x30x18 in tire in the back. I dont think that they were for a camaro, i have a feeling that they were possibly for a vette that someone put on the camaro..As far as minitubs and all that, i dont have alot of money so i think mini-tub is out of the question, so thats why im trying to figure out a way to see if these will fit..Hmmm what to do, what to do.

Those tires are wide. Get them and clean them up. It will look a lot better on a lowered car.

A lot of people go crazy with spacers but don't realize the hidden dangers that come with using them? You're not able to thread the lug on as many turns as you would be able to without the spacre. Sometimes, the wheel can come loose as a result of using the spacer. Its rare but it happens. Alot to tire shops won't even touch a car that has spacers or adapter plates on it. Its a liability issue so plan on bolting them on yourself if decide to go with the spacers. You need to be able to thread the lug on by hand 6 to 8 turns before zaping it with the impact or tightinig by hand. Also, those wheels look pitted and corosion looks like its starting, or are they just dirty? Remember, the inside of the wheel may also be coroding which will cause bead seating problems and rim leaks. They can always be sealed with a ruber sealer, but if there too far gone for get it.
