Default bolt-on z28 dyno at OUTLAW...

car dynoed : 2001 camaro z28 m6 (3.42 rear)
miles 106,xxx

power mods:

all bolt-ons

Exhaust:
hookers LTs
ORY - no cats!
flowmaster muffler
flowtech cutout (open)

Intake
ported/polished throttle body
bumpstop mod
Fernco smooth bellow
SLP Lid

Engine:
SLP Underdrive Pulley

Its a full bolt-on car.

First off thanks to Tony and the guys at OUTLAW for getting my car on their mustang dyno. It was also cool to meet some of the southside guys.

Now as far as the dyno numbers.

357 rwtq (not weather corrected)
352 rwhp (not weather corrected)

351 rwtq (weather corrected)
346 rwhp (weather corrected)

Since mustang dynos are more accurate then dynojets and show lower numbers, everyone expected my car to be at most 330 for a bolt-on f-body!

but nope! I am very pleased with these numbers as they are extremely strong.

Last winter I dynoed the same numbers on a dynojet dyno, with a couple of less bolt-ons (underdrive pulley, bumpstop, ported throttlebody). So yeah i was expecting lower numbers on the mustang dyno.

I could NOT believe it. Jason, your car is a freak. As soon as I saw that 357 on the computer, my jaw dropped.

I ran the ls1 shootout at RSD saturday night when it was f*cking cold and the track was like ice.

I was running consistantly a 13.00 flat at 113 mph, but my 60' times where around 2.3
if I launched either slipping or dumping the clutch at 2000rpm+ I would just spin forever. So all my take offs where at idle. That was on a KDWS street tire too! with a track temp of I think 42-46 degrees.

Those are some good numbers. What was the weight set at on the dyno? The PAU force seems a little low IMO. What do you usually set the weight at for F-bodies?

for chassis and suspension. I have:

LCA
cut springs (3/4" drop)
adj. panhard bar
comp engineering 3 way adj. drag shocks
boxed subframe connectors.

whats missing is a torque arm and drag radials!

You will see a big difference with the TA and some sticky tires.

Weight is set at stock 3785, how do you figure the numbers are low?

I was setting the weights. 3750-3785 for a stock weight car.

The PAU number only hits 351 at max for the pull posted. My car on a Mustang dyno hits 581 with 381hp and 356tq in the graph I am looking at. The weight is set at 3750 too. It did 389/372 but the graph did not print. That is a jump in PAU of 230 for only 35hp and 10ftlbs difference. Just does not add up to me. I am not calling BS or anything, more or less trying to understand the workings of the Mustang dyno.

Its hard to read on the dyno sheet, since I resized the file to fit on ls1techs attachments.

the 351 you read is my corrected rwtq.

the pau number was 540+. I will check the original at home.

We didnt believe the numbers either, but we did do 3 pulls that where consistant.
Other cars that dynoed that day showed accurate numbers for their builds. Mine was just high.
