Default Off Topic - Looking for new digital Camra...

I'm looking to buy a new camra and i'm stuck on which company or camra to go with.

Hopefully we got a good photographer here that can shed some advice.

I have a sony one atm but its getting old, and the settings kinda pick themselves. It'll switch automatically its getting annoying.

I'm wanting somthing w/ a FAST shutter speed so I can take nice clear pics.

Let me know, Thanks!

Matt

With digital cameras you need to determine how much you are willing to spend way before you go shopping for one. $400 to $600 buys a pretty decent camera these days. Getting one in this price range will give you many years of use out of it before it becomes obsolete. Also do not overlook the need for a quality lens. A good camera with a crap lens, takes crap pictures. This does not mean a top dollar lens will take good pictures with a junk camera though.

Yeah, I don't know much about non-SLR digi cams, but I know a few things about the Digi SLR's which are a little more "prosumer" oriented. Here is a forum where you can learn a great many things.

I dont even know if its all that good to some of you guys, but the newer sony Cyber shot. That really stupid little one, click here takes some pretty good quality photos. Now i know you aren't going to want to take pictures witha little *** camera, but i'm talking about what my sister has. Has that picture stabilization or something kinda neat, can't wait to see how it does for launches at the track

I'm not highly educated in the camera department, but i really like the quality and capabilities that this camera has

I just picked up a Canon PowerShot S3IS Digital Camera. 6.0 megapixels, 12x zoom, Optical Image stabilizer... I am no professional photographer by any means, but a buddy of mine is and recomended this camera. He uses it and take some amazing shots. Its just a little over $400.

My father actually picked up a Canon EOS-20D not too long ago, but thats a little overkill for me - I steal it once in a while to try to take some nice shots though

I went with the Olympus Stylus. great camera, great price. But what I love must is, the camera is all weather. I can take pictures in the rain and it hurts nothing!
