Default US 41 Still Messed Up!!!

Went there yesterday to watch some buddys run there cars. Went also to get some tire and rim sizes for my project car. They had test and tune till 3 since they have no bracket racing anymore for the year. Track was hooking pretty good until a malibu motor blew up at launch and poured oil all over the left lane making the left lane closed for all day. Then a couple cars later in the right lane a chevelle blows oil all the way down the track so then the right lane was done for the rest of the day.

The only problem I seen was that the left lane board is still not working right after what over 2 months. WTF can they fix this or not.

And wtf is with that fat guy yelling at people to hurry up and go through the water and would not let anyone go around it back up into the water or just not go into the water at all. He just wanted everyone to hurry up I guess and not do a proper burnout. The other blonde haired guy was cool about it.

Sucks that the lanes were closed but that is not anyones fault just wanted to see the cars that were still coming in on trailers to run but they came when both lanes were done for the day.

Sucks for them if they came so far.

I am not going back until they fix the left lane board which will be most likely never.

We tried to find who NEWBOMB was so we could say that it is still out but I guess 41 still has there heads up there ****.

No one thing changed though for the better still the same ole stuff that everyone has been saying that is wrong there and so far no one is fixing or trying to make it better.

I don't see why they couldn't clean the lanes and get back to running all lanes again? Is there no staff at all there? Just the line crew, tower, and time slip booth?

Now you are all in big trouble, newbomb is going to hunt you down.

I was there, and it is the worse run track I've been to in 20 years.

I would sell my business & take a cut in pay, for the chance to run the place,
I believe the fat idiot you saw was the manager.
Great leadership & customer treatment.

i agree with the poor maintenance of the place. i live 15-20 minutes north of 41 and would rather drive to byron and definitely worth the drive to 66. i said several times i would donate my personal time to at least paint the damn walls with some fresh white paint. oh and how about some cones,a quarter line/stripe or somethin at the staging lights. so many people pass up the stagin lights because you dont know where the hell they are unless you have run there and know. was there mid summer and found a spotlight shattered into pieces in the middle of the left lane right at the end of the 1/4. tower smells like 30 cats **** in it daily. im sure they make a pretty penny during the summer for street car chaos events alone to pay for some kind of "maintenance"

One of the last SCC's I was at, we're standing next to the right lane...Car makes a pass, and lets off a ton of smoke like he dumped something after the 1/4 beams. Someone points it out to Denny and his response was "It's passed the 1320' ". So for all you know there's 7 quarts of oil at the end of the track, but it's ok because it's passed the beams. So the next car makes a pass and doesn't wipe out or anything so I guess there wasn't anything...But just the fact that he didn't give a **** either way is scary.

About 60 total, but the lanes weren't crowded at all. Most people were working on their cars as usual and then coming around for a pass or two.

Bottom line is they need to get their **** together. This isn't the first complaint about the track and it won't be the last.

They need a guy running the place that doesn't blow everything off.

Let me run it next summer and watch what happens. They just don't understand you've gotta spen money to make money. Spend money on VHT and staff, but attendance will go through the roof when it's cheaper than RSD, hooking better, and has more action.

Wow you get in free! I did not know 66 gives anything away for free? I already will never go back to 66 ever again. It is 15 bucks to spectate and 25 to race but if you race you have to pay both which is bogus and a rip off. I think they have rasied the price also to around $45 bucks just to test and tune.

It is 15 minutes from my house and I will still never go back there so that explains how 66 is for sure.

Yeah they got awesome track prep but never will go again for any of there events for anything again. The only thing that was a good show was the NHRA event but it rained out the past 5 years and last year I finally got to see a show since they do not give rain checks so you can come back sat or sun since I went on fri night.

One time my dad drove his old car to 66 to just watch and talk to his buddys that brought a car and my dad asked if he could just park on the pavement since it rained and was muddy but the guy said go park in grass so my old man got pissed and left. He won't go back for anything either.

Those dirt car races they have sucked when they first opened the dirt track since they start the fastest qualifiers in the front instead of in the back and they lap everyone by the first five laps and its not a great show. I think the tickets were $60. I am sure alot of other people were pissed. They should have the fast cars start in the back and work they way through the pack since they lapped everyone anyways.

Route 66 is in Joliet by the way.
