I gotta see how the new trans is gonna act. I cant make any decisions as of right now but id be super interested. How fast do u guys usually travel? I got an auto now and these gears are killin me. lol

We keep to the speed limits. I sped once and got caught doing 96 in a 65 in southern IL on Day 3 of the long haul in 05. Ever since, I do the limit or 5 over.

As far as the trans goes, I have a 4l60e with 3.73 gears and a 4500 stall, on a 26" street tire, full boltons. That is the car I will be taking on the tour. I get around 20 mpg on the highway. I wouldn't be too worried about it. There is a lot of highway driving and not much city.

One local event, say, Springfield, on slicks & skinnies would be fine. Don't do the long haul with them though. There were several guys who did it last year and ended up putting their cars into guard rails, medians, other cars, etc. The weather is unpredictable and so are the other ******* drivers on the road.
