July 1st ORP hosts UMTR When: July 1st Sunday. Gates open at 7am, practice 9am, elims 1pm
Where: O'Reilly Raceway Park, Indianapolis
What: UMTR (United Manual Transmission Racers) brings stick shift racing to IRP. The purse is dependent on participation. Race entry for the Street Stick Class is $20 and entry for the Power Shift class is $50. Rules concerning classes can be found at "umtrdragrace.com". The class is dominated by Mustangs so bring out your fbodies, GTO, 'vettes, or what ever else you have w/ a manual transmission and show some GM muscle.
Why: This is a manual transmission only race so you get to put all of your bracket racing skills against other "naturals". There are no delay boxes, no air shifters, nothing fancy just good old fashioned gear banging.
Besides, I'm the only f-body in the top 10 in the points race so I need some head hunters to take out some of the blue-oval guys.
It's certain to be a great time so come on out!
