Jesse what do you think about doing the headers on the 27th? Rodney said he would be able to help that day as well and Trevor your help would be appreciated as well. I just think that a Saturday would work best in case something happens and we need the next day. Let me know what you think about the 27th. It would be nice to get it done before it gets too cold out.
Wont work for me. I have to go home that weekend to take our dock out of the lake....Dont have to work it around me, just luck of the draw. Only plus to going home is my baby is awaiting my arrival. Ill have to see if I have another weekend I can bring it back home sometime, and use it again in Ames for a week or 2. I cant hardly live w/o it. Fast, fun, and actually economical (providing my foot stays off the floor) Dad has been running old school stuff and has had some fast cars, but gets mad when I can put out just short of 425RWHP and 391RWTQ and still nail 28 MPG at 80mph. I dont know what you Autos run, but I love the M6!!

Hey andy, did you pick up a set of plugs/wires as well - its extreamly easy to change them with this installation. Also MSD plugs are great quality.

Plugs def., wires are your choice. They are so short anyway, really not going to gain alot of any. Its up to you how much you wanna spend and tweak, but yes, DEF do plugs, and not cheap ones either!!!

Will new plugs be necessary with only 11k miles on my car? I mean they are cheap so I might as well. TGK TR55's then? Or just stick with AC Delco ones?

Also what can I use to plug the intake manifold after my EGR is taken out?

hey man, NGK TR55's are the way to go. You do have to change them more often, but its honestly not that big of a deal really. I like NGk plugs, and tend to gap them tighter then factory specs. i gapped mine at .035, i think factory is somewhere around .060, WAY too much gap IMHO. Also, i can pick up the plug you need for the EGR whenever you decide when to do it, i will bring it with if you want me too. Just let me know when you need to get it done. 27th or anything after probably works for me. i have to drive to Illinoise this saturday to get some TD's for the TA! Cant wait!

NGK is what I did too, the 55's. They are dirt cheap, might as well. You must not drive the car very often, 11k!?!?! Wow. Clean I bet tho!

What the hell is TD's?

That's going to be nice man. I will let you know when we are doing the install. Jesse is going to see about the 27th but as of right now that is the date we are shooting for. That would be great if you could bring that plug I need as well.

Yeah, NGK is what I meant, I was thinking TGK for some reason. I will get some of those as well if you all think it would be a good idea. Rodney, I assume you will be able to gap them for me as well? Trevor, I bought the car about a month ago with 10,586 miles on it. It has almost 12k on it now . It is fairly clean.

So are people still trying to get together this weekend? Keep me posted, I would like to meet some new people.

Whatever time is good with me. I will more than likely be down there already. Maybe Jason (unstang) will chime in with a good spot to meet. I suppose we could always meet at a restaurant or sports bar type place, grab something to eat, and then cruise around for a bit. I am up for anything though.

Well, its not the milage on the plug that made me ask, its the age - the plugs (if never changed before) are close to 7 years old. I have the 27th marked down in my books, should not take to long. Should sound real good.

Sounds good Jesse. I will pick up some plugs and might as well change the oil while we are at it. Anything else I should get? Hopefully you are right about it not taking too long . Just hope we don't run into any trouble.

Well, turns out im not going to drive up there to pick the setup up. He cant give me a time, so im not going to drive 3 1/2 hours to find out he isnt home on saturday, so told him he can keep them. Anyhow, will probably just buy an x pipe, and the mandrel bends I need and make my own now.

Rodney you still plan on going to Tri-State Saturday? I would like to run my car before I add headers just to get a baseline time. I looked on their website and they don't have anything for Saturday on there though. Sunday it says Test and Tune though. If they have something on Saturday I will probably go over. Anyone else that wants to join from my area that would be cool. I will say, that track is nicer than Cedar Falls. Since we are doing my headers on the 27th I wont be able to make it to Cedar Falls that day anyway.
