So if you're looking for something to do Saturday come on out! If it rains we'll try it again August 3rd. Here's the link to the facebook page if you need more information https://www.facebook.com/CentralCharityCruiseIn?ref=hl Thanks!
I wanted to make it out but I didn't have my car put back together yet. Hopefully you all had a good turn out, I'll try and stop by next year, you're just down the road from me.

On the topic of my car, I found out how much a stock 8.8 housing can take; was playing around a couple weeks ago and tore both tubes out of the housing and bent it about 4* off straight on both ends. Tubes were welded (albeit poorly). It even tore out the factory plug welds. Sadly I was only leaving from ~3500 RPM on the radials. Funny I never killed my stock IRS or my Dana 36 setup, but then again I'm making substantially more power now than last year.

Put a Moser setup in it, aftermarket tubes, 9" ends, 31 spline axles, fully welded, etc. It has a spool in it, but after driving it for a bit I think I'm going to swap a locker back in. I rebuilt a 31 spline trac-lok last night and I'll drop that in this week. I also swapped in spherical upper bushings instead of the bind happy bushings. Whole rear is sphericals and aluminum bushings now. With the coilovers setup correctly it really isn't too bad, though it does clunk a little bit.

Anyone else out and about? I've been around most weekends, but honestly there hasn't been much worth playing with. I don't see a lot of reason to run a stock Corvette or Mustang unless they are talking trash.

I haven't been out in a while. I may go out this Friday.

If anyone is looking for a sweet car show, there will be one downtown Columbia City this Saturday between 8:00-1:00. It's a pretty sweet car show for those that have never been to it before. I'll be there in the Formula.

I don't think they do or ever have for their annual car show. I only know about it because I try to go every year and remember that it's the first Saturday in August, and I got a flyer in the mail reminding me.

It's right downtown Columbia City. (Take US 30 west and turn South on 9 and it will bring you there). It always has been a good turnout, and there is a wide variety of cars from domestics to imports to classic hot rods and custom cars. I believe there is a small entry fee, but you also get a bunch of free stuff by entering, and all the proceeds go towards junior achievement.

Once it starts, they close off the streets for the car show and play a bunch of music and have different awards.

It's a really cool show and has been a favorite of mine for years.

That sounds like a great place to get drunk and listen to live music. Right down the street from my moms. Could have her come pick my car up if I get too drunk. Gonna check my schedule.

Well that was the most bad *** car night I have seen in years! Holy crap it was like traveling back in time!

Big turnout, 650+ RWHP cars racing 700 RWHP cars racing 800 RWHP cars. Plus we were back at Halls!

Honestly this made my month!

Yeah the car show didn't have a great turnout but it wa still fun and we did raise enough money to buy the teachers a laptop! So that's great!

So what happened at Halls? Was it their car show or are they actually allowing cars back there on the weekends like old times? I think we should get a big group together and cruise in there on a Saturday night around 9 or whenever they stop being busy and go in and eat. That might start things up there again! Show them that we bring business not take it away!

As of last Saturday night, Halls has officially let us hang out there again. Just like old times
I love the idea of a cruise in, but I will not be able to go out this weekend as I will be out of town.

My Z is finally back together though, and I plan on making an appearance next Friday night.

I think the great thing about Halls is simply the location. We started last Saturday with just a hand full of cars, but as more cars cruised the streets, more and more stopped by, and it turned into one helluva night! I can only hope this is a glimpse of more to come. If nothing else, its a start.

I just got my short bed Silverado back together. I think I might cruise up there tonight and see if anything is going on.

I don't know if it will change overnight, but its definitely a step in the right direction. I really wish I could go out this weekend.

Post up how the scene is if anyone heads up there tonight or tomorrow night.

I'm planning on doing some cruising tonight hopefully there will be some others out too. I drove past last night and no one was there but I heard they're only letting us cruise in on Saturday nights.
