Default Where are the GI Bill COLA Checks cut from? Treasury?

I got a couple checks in that are cut from the US Dept of Treasury. I already got my Tax return back a couple weeks ago (LONG story... big mix up) and I don't want the IRS sending me any more checks than I'm supposed to have.

just making sure that these are coming from the 9/11 GI Bill.. They're supposed to be getting their **** straightened out soon and I could REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY use the money to get caught up on bills and I DON'T want to have nto send the checks back..

GI COLA?? Do you mean the BAH? If so it says on my direct deposit this: US TREASURY 220 VA ED CH33

Switch it over to direct deposit as soon as you can. It only speeds up the process and cuts out the middle man. Very efficient and I always get the deposits on the 29th if the month ends on the 30th and the 30th if it ends on the 31st.

^ Yeah, well I'm a civilian now.. Got MED Boarded OCT last year.. (08)... What ever we are paid for BAH/COLA for being registered students.. I am attending University of Hartford Full time.. Man, I tell ya being around these kids isn't easy.. I want to strangle SOOO many of them!! Mindless blather and general disrespect.

How do I switch to DD?? I'm still new at this, obviously..

Another question regarding the Post 9/11 bill:

If I am between semesters month break for Christmas, but registered, am I sill going to get paid BAH/COLA? Classes end about 15 December and Spring Semester starts 20 Jan. Am I going to get a COLA check for DEC?

This is saving my *** right now.. Finally got my payments and backed payments, paid off almost ALL my bills and gonna SAVE like CRAZY for some new LT's and a FAST intake for the spring/summer..

My first two GI Bill checks were from the Treasury in TX. I don't know why I got paper checks since I gave my bank acct info on the forms.

Do you get paid between semesters?? Even when you will be in school for each month? Such as Dec and JAN?

I believe you get paid based on the dates your school reports as "in session". That is, you will get a pro-rated amount for months that you are not going the entire month.

If you are on Facebook, they actually have a very helpful page on there:
