My brother is stationed there, he drives a S2000 but he has told me that he sees plenty of modded fbodies running around on the base as far as a track I have no idea. Hes told me that he likes it out there its not that bad, The beach is not far nor is Charlotte so plenty places to go around that area not to mention the mountains for the winter months.

I just left there...at Kadena now...I had a Z06 theres a few other vettes, Fbodies, and mustangs rolling around...2 1/4 mile tracks within 90 min...Coastal Plains in Jacksonville NC and Fayetteville Motorsports Park...I went 11.10 at 127 at Fayetteville and 10.93 at 128 at Coastal...have fun...the immediate area kinda sux but fairly close to the coast and an hour away from raleigh...greenville is 45 min away home of ECU.

Whoever named that base has a funny sense of humor.

I'm going there as well, will be there in about 2 weeks. I heard there is a track called Kinston about 30 minutes from base, and have been told by quite a few people that used to be there that the car scene is pretty decent there. Deff. much better racing there then here in San Antonio, TX I'm sure. Anyway anyone there if you see me around say hello.

The car scene has died off big time but it may have picked back up this year(I left there in Jan 2010). The past couple years it sucked but yes there are some nice/fast rides in the area. There used to be a nasty CETA that ran around there

You should do some research on who the base is named after

I'm fairly sure you were an instructor of mine back in May-June 07 at Lackland for my BMT...I think you were briefing us on GI Bill and were explaining to us that you were going home to drink to TSgt Passover around those times...sound right or am I thinking of someone else....I do in fact remember a SSgt Tate...regardless...have fun at SJAFB make the best of it...its not the greatest but there are far worse places to go!

If it was good classes then yes it was probably me. I made Tech the next year so it's alright now. If I can do 5 years at Lackland and a year in Korea and make those fun, then I'm sure I can do the same thing in Seymour. Plus it's close enough to many things that I like so I think it will work.
