Default How do I get an electronic DD214?

I need a electronic copy of a DD214 apparently to fill out 9/11 GI bill benefits via Vonapp.

Or is there a better way to apply for the 9/11 GI bill?

Are you still in? What branch? I know I can get a copy of mine (I'm in the Air Force) from the Air Force portal, and I'm assuming that Army can get a copy from AKO. If you're out, you might be able to get somewhere by going through the VA. Also, if you're still in, your education office should be able to handle the paperwork for you.

I'm out, prior USAF.

I don't think I can get access to the portal anymore without a CAC.

Call them and have them email it to you. You could also go to the school and get with the VA rep (which i found is the easiest).

I'm guessing that your best bet now is to contact your VA office, and see if they can help you.
