I just pcs'd away from there and its expensive as hell. The weather is nice, really windy which kicked my *** with allergies that I never had before. The base is awesome. If you are staying off base try to find a place in vacaville or somewhere around there, just stay away from fairfield.

did you all have your cars registered in CA or did you run plates from your home state? Any good tracks close to the base? How are the smog checks hear CA is a bitch about cars. I'll be surprised if its more expensive than here (Guam) I'll be there around Mid July. BlackBeauty where do you work? I'm definatly living off base, have no asperations to live on base, never had. Thanks guys just looking for general info about the area. Never been stationed in the states.

I had a part of my Tech School there, nice area but pretty expensive. I didn't care too much for the wind though. There is an f-body club somewhere in the bay area too.

I've been there one time. It's about 40 miles from me but I'd go there again. Got a nice deal on a tv at the BX.

I work at the 60 CS in contingency comm section. What squadron are you PCS'ing into? As for tracks there are 2 out here kinda close. Theres Infinion Raceway (Top fuel NHRA track) and Sacramento Raceway. Both are about 45 min-1 hr away. Infinion is a really really nice track of course, but it's busy as hell on test and tune nights. Sac's an O.K. track, but the upside is it's not as busy usually. As for where to live? Yes, stay out of Fairfield if possible. It has some good areas to live in but also has alot of bad areas to live in. The area's really nice and the weather is awesome. It was 65-70 degrees today (So I had to take the T-tops out of course). If you got anymore burning questions just let me know. Later

I'm going to the 60th APS. Do you have any problems with the smog checks or what?

There is a good track down around here, but its more over my way. Its Infineon Raceway ( which used to be Sears Point) out by Napa. Theres also Sacramento Raceway which I have heard is ok. Best of luck out here in norcal.
