Yes im a newbie on these boards but It dosen't matter to me.

Leaving monday for Parris Island. Date was upped by a week due to another poolee's fawk up. Pretty excited about it. Was in excellent physical shape up untill a week ago. Flu took its toll on me. Will be sent to lejune for my Mos training. Will be an electrician. Anything I should look out for in SC?

Shut your mouth, do what you are told to do, be positive, and blend in. This from a former Drill Sergeant. Everything else will fall into place after that.

That sums it up perfectly.

Oh yeah. Try and get an Addy out to us. Care packages are great to get when the suck'ins bad.

Take care and have fun. It may seem shitty or stupid, but it really never is. It's all for a purpose. Remember it all. To some it's a once in a lifetime scenerio.

Good luck man! It's all mental, you just can't let the BS get to you. There will be lots of it. Stay positive and stay motivated and you won't have any problems. Like 97blkz and blackws69 said, don't kill any sand fleas! I'm a hollywood Marine so I didn't have to deal with them, but that is all the Paris Island boots talk about, having to find the sand flea they killed and such. Again, good luck and Semper Fidelis!

This is true. From what I have seen, the hollywood Marines are generally a little tougher and the east coast Marines have a little more discipline. Those hills are no joke. WTF was that big one called anyway? I can't believe I forgot something like that. I'm sure it will come back to me, but still, never thought I would forget that. I still remember my D. I.'s names and the guys that were in the racks closest to mine, but not the name of that ******* hill. I feel stupid now.

Man, I remember having to hump up all those damn mountains at Camp Pendleton. Got you in shape, that's for sure.

They did all suck ***. The one I was thinking of was the reaper. Out in Okinawa on Hanson you also have porkchop. Not quite the same because you don't hump it but that is a shitty run. Also, in Quantico they have a mean hill that ******* lasts forever not a half mile from the barraks. That is probably the hardest run I have ever done.
