Every branch has their share of BS.. On that note, you will get BS no matter where you go. If you feel it's for you, then more power to ya..

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing only not going active army and going army national guard. I'll be out of the AF in sept then probably be goin green. The AF just wasn't for me. I would say go for it, and good luck!

Come over to the cool littlest big gun club in the world, the U.S.M.C. Funny thing is that we have the shortest deployments out of all the services, however, we also have the shortest turnaround time between deployments.
From what I see, the corps is about 5 years behind everyone else, in terms of troop handling, we still, prefer a good *** chewing over a piece of paperwork for minor infraction. But is is all about what you like.

You know lately i've been thinking the same thing. I'm glad i'm not the only one. It seems all the reasons I joined the AF for ended up being the reasons I want out. I'm trying one other thing first. I've been training and am about to take my physical test to become a Pararescue. If I don't make it I'll probably go blue to green. I just acquired a new lady friend here in Korea and she happens to be Army. She just got her next duty station which happens to be on an Air Force base with me =P I guess its a good thing her daddy is a very important person in the Army.
Hmm, maybe I should talk to someone. I've been thinking about it lately. Who did you talk to? A regular Army recruiter or someone else? Would I have to go through basic again? I'm in E-4 right now. I did a 4 year contract but its up in a year.
EDIT: Err, sorry I think I kinda hijacked your thread. So let me add. If you think you'll like it go for it. If you dont mind deploying go for it. I've learned a few things about the army making army friends here. However, I would NOT do it for the 10k. If the 10k is whats making you think about it then screw it.

my .02 being active duty army. There is ALOT of bull that comes with the army. Honestly your experiance in the army is based soley who your chain of command I have had both GOOD and BAD in the army. The army is really a easy job, it's to easy to do stuff here, but its all based on YOUR personality as to how you handle it. I Personaly will not for NO amount of money reinlist in the army I just am tired of dealing with it not worth it to me.
