Will be leaving for Parris Island in May and, Camp Lejeune afterwards for SOI, any of you guys at Lejeune? Any DI's or other at the Island?

Hopefully won't be the only F-body owner at Lejeune.

You should see if you can go to pendleton for soi. You'll learn what a mountain is. Just have fun keep your mouth shut at boot camp they'll play games just to see if your gonna break. Everything they do has a perpose so do it.

HEY cool and good luck with you experience.
Its an awesome time. step up in boot camp!! dont be the guy to just be there and stay under the radar. step up and be a squad leader, youll get promoted and youll have more experience leading when you get to SOI.

you wont be takign your car to lejeune. unless you get stationed out there later. theres a good chance you will BUT, 03XXs go all over.

good luck

There are plenty of F-Bodies in Jacksonville, along with mustangs and ricers. If you get stationed there check out Coastal Carolina F-Body

gotta love the wing.. however, i think the ground side should be a pre-req before going wing, for anyone that isn't a aircraft mechanic. i did 5 years in 1/5. and i have mucho respect for the ground side. but i wouldn't trade the wing in for that **** again.

Appreciate the advice.

As of right now, just preparing with what I can, however, DEP (being a Poolie) is absolutely nothing to what I know i'm going to be doing later...

Hoping to be an 0331, however, haven't fully decided on whether I should go ahead and do for Recon Indoc, since from advice of other 03's that it's alot harder to have the time or to even get the paper request to do Indoc after being in the fleet. Or wait till i've been in the fleet for a while first. I'm more of leaning on waiting, don't really feel that it's right to make that step-up until i've had experience as a regular 03 before going 0321..

Thoughts?

From what I was told, don't quote me, you have to be a Sgt or above to even qualify for Force Recon. Unless you're trying for like STA (pronounced STAY) platoon. Thats like battalion level recon, and I think you try for that as soon as time permits and an indoc opens up!

Basically that's it. However, I'm just on the forked road between what I'm wanting to do as far as going with STA or a regular 03 field. I suppose that once I get to boot i'll know. But, I just like to prepare for what I can ahead of time.
