Congrats Texas, I don't know for sure when I'll be sewing on (ln# 6xxx) but I'm looking forward to sewing on especially looking at the increase in pay just in BAH alone... lol...

I'm active duty and I've tested for Staff two times with no luck. Maybe I can pull off a miracle next year and get it, lol. The way things are going, I might be one of those high year tenure SrA's. Anyways, congrats on that 4th stripe!

We just had some one make tech. He tested out of cycle due to deployment. he orginally missed it by .5 a point. They went back and recalculated his results and info. Guess what he made it by a point and a half. Lucky sob, i missed it by 4 points this time.

Congrats on the stripe. Gotta love the extra pay.

Yeah I worn Staff for over half my career now. Tested for Tech 4 times and no dice. But I guess thats what happens when your a MTI.
1. No time to study.
2. Cut off for Tech is usually 335-340.

Good s**t do0d! I think I sew on 1 Feb, the way things are going. THe NOV list is out and I did some math.

How do you get Staff in the reserves anyway? I thought it was a 'bump up' process?? Still have to test for it? Reserves on a different Alpha listing than AD??

yeah it kinda sucked i could have had around march and gone to 7-level school over the summer but people were dragging thier feet and it didnt get through until this last month, would have been nice to have the strip and get the 7-level out of the way ASAP

I know i have it easy compared to you guys that are active duty, but i have all the respect for you guys that do this full time for a living and i am thinking about going active when i finish school

im am really considering it, and since im in engineering it could line me up since im Reserves for a squadron command position since a few of the squadrons at my base a prereq for squadron commander is a engineering degree (i know it would take a while to work up to that rank) but i talked with some people and a few of the C.O.'s are retiring soon and there is nobody behind them with eng. degrees so get the degree and get there first and put myself in a good position to move up fast, who knows we will see where the money takes me
