just got done with basic! now only 10 more weeks unitl i get to see my z/28.i think i am going to buy an ls2 with the 20k bonus i got,possibly start an lsx build.i graduated from fort jackson yesterday morning with honors.Highest brm in my company with a 37/40.it was an interesting experience.now it is off to aberdeen to do my vehicle mechanic training.

actually it is 21k but its a wierd number so i use 20.no rank for me.E-fuzzy FTL!!!!my recruter fucked me over but whos didnt?i probably should have done something more complicated with a 90 asvab score but i signed the contract before they showed me all the cool jobs.not doing research FTL!!

you will be working your *** off as a mechanic. Good luck getting all of your bonus at once. Thats what I thought would happen on my enlistment bonus and they split it up. You get ten k for the first one then they split it evenly for the rest of your enlistment. Not sure if they have an option for a lump sum enlist bonus but I doubt it. Oh and they tax the **** outta it also like 23 percent or higher

have fun dude, I was a mechanic for 4 years before moving on to better things. Where are you going to be stationed? Hit me up if you get sent to Ft. Bragg!

Congrats man- I did my autobody mechanic training for the Air Force at Aberdeen back in 1998. Most of the training was welding.
